Topic 2Shared-Work, an Alternative to Layoffs

Shared-work allows an employer to temporarily reduce the work hours of a group of employees and divide the hours equally rather than laying off any employees. Employees covered by a Shared-Work plan receive a percentage of their UC benefits.   This presentation will explain what Shared-Work is, the qualifications for employer participation, employer responsibilities, how the program operates, and benefit charging.
